Unplugging From the World: 4 Days of Introspection
———————
Last year was one of the best years of my life, while also being the year of incredible transformation.
I really embraced my entrepreneurial skills and dipped my hands and feet in every project I could have imagined. I went for my dream and was blessed with so much more than expected. At one point I remember only sleeping 4 hours each night during the summer, which is when I worked on a multitude of projects and in constant building mode.
Building my brand, building my name, building my empire.
Well, I forgot for a second there that I’m not a robot and that I can’t just power through for months on end. I hit a major wall, I was exhausted and acting a bit out of character. That’s when I realized I needed to take a solo trip, spend time with myself and embrace a new and calming environment.
Complete isolation was what I was craving and thankfully I found the perfect location.
On a few hours notice I decided on a place, booked my flights, my Airbnb, and was well on my way to beautiful Evergreen, Colorado.
A Breathtaking Stay
———————————
Once I arrived in the city, I rented a car, stopped at Whole Foods to load up on groceries, and drove an hour into the woods. I had no intention in returning to the city for the remainder of my stay. My Airbnb hosts sent me a set of directions on how to get to their place and was informed google maps stops working once I arrive at a certain point, due to the remote and secluded nature of the house.
This is exactly what I was looking for.
The day I arrived the weather was overcast and was told it starts to get dark around 4pm.
I took the following photographs upon arrival.
Here’s tour of the house!
Enjoying the Silence
———————————
After getting settled in, I began cooking and started a fire with wood that my Airbnb hosts chop up themselves. Not gonna lie, being the clutz that I am, I totes almost burned my face off at least 10x.
The background was filled with the crackling of the wood and nothing else. I was in heaven.
Morning After: Time to Explore
———————————————
I’m personally not big on hiking, but with 7-acres of greenery surrounding me, and my need for some soul searching, I was excited to get my hike on and get outside my comfort zone!

The trees were marked with red dots to guide the way there and back.
Reaching “The Outlook”
—————————————————
I was in complete awe of the beauty all around me. I stopped and meditated every few minutes, calming the monkey brain that was consuming me for a few weeks. After spending a few hours at “The Outlook”, where I read and journaled, I made my way back to the house.
On my way back I picked up some pre chopped wood and admired this gorgeous property.
Meet Henry!
—————————
I was informed about a possible friend coming to say hello during my stay.
I named him Henry, it seemed fitting.
Looking Inward
———————————
After eating dinner, making a fire, and interacting with Henry behind the glass door, I journaled all of my thoughts for the day.
After these 4 days I regained my energy, my drive was back and I discovered new things about myself. In addition to the above, I wrote down my goals for 2019 and character improvements I’ll be working on throughout the year.
I’m happy to say that a few goals have already begun to manifest and new ones have been added to the list.
Needless to say, this trip was everything I wanted and more.

I hope this blog inspired you to take your very own solo trip and not only explore a new location, but also yourself.
